Question: "Capital Class" seems to be a new mutual fund investment term. What does it mean?

Answer: Investment fund managers have structured special mutual funds with the option of moving from one fund to another without triggering a capital gain tax liability. This provides a tax-efficiency otherwise unavailable with non-RRSP accounts. In most cases, Capital class type mutual funds are considered (under current tax rules) as 100% Canadian content. However, some foreign ones - qualify within the classification, thus world market exposure.
